Redesigned an internal insurer portal used by claim assessors and admin staff, focused on improving information clarity, navigation efficiency, and user satisfaction.

My Role:

Acted as both UI Designer and Business Analyst — conducted user interviews, gathered feedback and requirements, and analyzed pain points to identify key usability issues.

Figma (used for wireframes, interactive prototypes, and final UI design)

🔍 The Problem

The original insurer dashboard interface was cluttered and difficult to use. Users reported frequent issues with navigation, visibility of key data, and inefficient workflows.

🧩 My Process

1. User Discovery

  • Conducted interviews with claim assessors and staff to understand friction points

  • Mapped pain points related to dashboard hierarchy and information overload

 

2. Wireframing & Ideation

  • Built low-fidelity wireframes to reorganize dashboard structure

  • Introduced modular card layouts to group related data

3. UI Design & Prototyping

  • Designed clean, modern interface aligned with Miya’s new brand identity

  • Delivered interactive prototypes for stakeholder feedback

  • Created reusable UI components to support future scalability and consistency

 

4. Iteration & Developer Handoff

  • Refined layout based on internal testing

  • Documented final UI and specifications for front-end developers

  • Collaborated with engineers in QA testing to ensure visual and functional accuracy during implementation

    💡 Reflection

    This project reinforced my belief in listening to users early in the design process. Even small layout and hierarchy changes had major impacts on usability.
